Physical Description:
- (Human Form) Stands at 7’0” tall, with a toned and thick muscled body, similar to that of a bodybuilder (he does not look out of proportioned) He has Black hair and his skin is Russet. Throughout the books, his hair changes length (Twilight - Long, New Moon - Short, Eclipse – Chin Length, Breaking Dawn – Short). After he becomes a werewolf he tends to wear only cut-off jeans or sweatpants. This is because when turning from human to wolf and back again he doesn’t like to have to carry a lot of clothes (they are ruined during transformation).
- (Wolf Form) about 10’0” in length, and about 7’0” tall. Russet brown fur, Dark eyes that show intelligence, and is very swift. He is the second fastest, and second largest in Sam’s pack. He later grows to be the largest and strongest, but Leah Clearwater is still the fastest. Sam acknowledged Jacob as the packs strongest fighter.

Personality:
- (Human) As he matures his personality changes. In Twilight, he was very friendly though shy around Bella. However in New Moon, he goes from his old happy self to becoming sullen and temperamental. This in turn is because he is experiencing the change of shape-shifting. In Eclipse he gains confidence that Bella is really for him, so much so that he makes her realize that she loves him after all. He does have a rebellious side. In Breaking Dawn his personality changes yet again, he feels like Bella is going to die. He is ready to kill her daughter Renesmee, this is until he sees her and experiences imprinting. After Bella transforms into a vampire, he returns to his cheerful self yet again.
- (Wolf)
-Regeneration- This allows to heal at an abnormal rate, faster than any human body can.
-Phasing – Can phase in and out of Wolf form. With practice and skill, one can morph faster and with more efficiency. Jacob can phase in mid-jump, while it takes the rest of the pack several seconds.
-Telepathy – Only works within the pack, and must be in wolf form. They can speak to each other telepathically and hear each other’s thoughts.
-Physically Enhanced – Have Supper-Strength, both as a wolf and human. As Wolf running their top speed is about 80 to 90 mph, as humans an average speed is 30 to 40 mph. They can lift an average of 500 to 600 pounds.
-Increased Durability – Werewolves have a high durability rate.
-Delayed Aging – They cannot start aging until a solid period of time without phasing goes by (The exact length of time is unknown). Phasing is instinctual, and when Vampires are close, they phase.
-High Body Temperature – Werewolves have a constant body temperature of about 110 degrees. This is to help withstand sever cold weather, along with to help survive hot weather, so their bodys don’t overheat. It also prevents frequent illness, this is because the high body temperature kills any potential pathogens they come into contact with before they can become ill.
