Physical Description: Very Pale, His hair is always messy is an unusual shade of bronze (this he inherited form his biological mother Elizabeth Masen). When he was human he had Green eyes. As a vampire his eyes are described as topaz or liquid gold. His facial features are described as perfect and angular, with his high cheekbones, a strong jawline, and straight nose and full lips. He stands 6’2”, and has a slender but muscular body. He looks as if he is only 17 years old, when in reality he is more than 100 years old. Like all vampires his skin is hard as marble, and ice cold. As well as his skin sparkles in the sunlight.-When he goes long without feeding, his appearance slightly changes. His eyes darken to black, and purple bruise-like shadows appear beneath his eyes.

Personality: Charming, polite, a gentleman, determined, and very stubborn. He always puts Bella’s safety, humanity, and welfare before everything else, and goes to great lengths to protect her from what he sees as danger. He often over-analyzes situations. He has a tendency to overreact, especially in situations where Bell’s safety is involved. He sees himself as a monster. He spends the time he would be sleeping (Vampires don’t sleep) reading, and studying languages and music. He plays the piano, but listens to a very wide range of music. He enjoys driving fast, and collecting cars. He and Jasper are the best Fighters in their coven, though they are not physically the strongest. His voice and scent are enormously seductive; this makes it easy for him to dazzles human women, and persuades them to do what he wants. He has all the Basic Vampire Abilities such as, Immortality, Regeneration, Superhuman Beauty, Strength, Stamina, Speed, Endurance, Agility, and Durability. They do not have to breath, but chose to, out of habit, and because it is helpful to smell their environment. He cannot digest regular human food. As well, like other vampires, he cannot sleep.
